tous
As much as I like the modern, gee whiz jets of today, something about seeing the aircraft of my father's era fly again makes my heart swell and renews my admiration for the designers, crew dogs and those that constructed those old birds. And nothing gets the blood flowing, the heart pumping like hearing four, huge round engines throttle up. Edited July 11, 2018 by tous

Airmotive
Do take care. The South Africans just face-planted a fully restored Convair 240 on its early test flight. At least one fatal. MayBe more. Takeoff and crash are on YouTube. Gents flew that big plane til the land/air delta went to zero. A glorious, if not celebrated aircraft of historical significance.

nmgunshooter
When I was stationed with the 509th BW at Pease AFB in the 70's since we were the wing that dropped the atomic bomb we had a replica of the Enola Gay at the front gate. It was a beautiful airplane. Brings back a lot of memories.
