Automatically follow threads you post to and show up in User?

Is there a way to automatically follow a thread when you post to it?  I posted to a couple of threads.  Then I hit new activity and saw there were new post but I didn't get a notification.

Check your notification settings under the General tab (scroll down)

Yes, click your name in the upper left corner and you will find account settings and others things.
