Harbor freight car jacks any good

we got an actual harbor freight store  B&m  here  . anyone know if their jacks any good .  im a bit leary  about it  .  i got a bud who needs 4   and i told him dont go cheap   with something that can kill ya .  ive tired to talk him into others but

he wants me to go with him and im doing what i can to talk him out of it .  

 

so anyone got something good to say ?  i think i know  what the responses will be

I've got good jack stands, but I still won't crawl under there without my blocks of tree stumps under there also.

Check the item number and read the reviews.  Some are pretty decent.

Their aluminum "racing" jack is supposed to get great reviews.  Unless you go crazy and get US made they are probably as good as anything else.  Regardless don't go under without stands.

Yeah. I use jack stands and. Ramps put under whatever im under. I don't play being under something. He don't think that's the thing.

always use jack stands,ones way over rated for the weight.

i also change the Hydraulic fluid in a store jack after a year and use syn. ATF

i have a couple northern tool and H.F. Trolley jacks i use.

I've got their jack stands (rated 6,000# each) and racing jack (3,000#).

 

Both have held my F150 and Honda Pilot up without issue.

 

Very strong and secure.

My BIL used to creep me out, by sitting cross legged under a wheel while working on the brakes while using only a jack to support the car.  I always considered "what if" and never exposed myself without good strong passive insurance.  I am not a fatalist but a realist.
