Any AT&T U-Verse users here? If so, have you noticed some substantial internet slowdowns today and an intermittent outage this evening? AT&T hasn't acknowledged that a problem occurred, but several sites that document outages have reported it. My connection was lagging all day and then went down almost completely at around 7PM CST. By almost completely, I mean that some sites were completely inaccessible, including Google, You Tube, Twitter and many others, while others were intermittently unavailable and/or very slow, while many sites big and small could be reached normally.

This doesn't seem like an equipment failure. If it was some sort of routing issue, it was damned selective. I'm wondering if all this was a deliberate act by someone. IMHO, this seems a lot more like an attack than someone cutting a line or turning off the wrong switch. Anyway, whatever it was, it seems to be clearing up slowly.

I doubt any other users could tell you unless they lived close to you.  They called the junction connectors in the neighborhoods - nids - and AT&T was always having issues with streaming and connectivity in our E. FtW neighborhood when we had it.  They kept jacking the price up on their TV service that we finally left.  AT&T cell service was ok reliability wise but again the prices kept going up.  When they bought DirectTV is when things really went to chit.  I despise AT&T now.

We hooked up with Spectrum and they sent me a card in Spanish for discounted internet (I guess they thought I was poor with my Spanish sur name and where I live.  Basically, we pay $25 total with no price increase ever.  We also switched cell service from TMobile.  $30 for 2 lines the first year and then $30 a line after that.  Good luck.

This was really widespread. It covered parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and the Los Angeles area. This was either a massive routing issue or a deliberate attack.
