gwalchmai
https://bigthink.com/health/red-meat-cancer-not-health-risk/ Quote In a new, unprecedented effort, scientists at the University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) scrutinized decades of research on red meat consumption and its links to various health outcomes, formulating a new rating system to communicate health risks in the process. Their findings mostly dispel any concerns about eating red meat. “We found weak evidence of association between unprocessed red meat consumption and colorectal cancer, breast cancer, type 2 diabetes and ischemic heart disease. Moreover, we found no evidence of an association between unprocessed red meat and ischemic stroke or hemorrhagic stroke,” they summarized. Trust the science, y'all.

minderasr
It's more than red meat. It turns out fat isn't bad for you either. This video is focused on butter, but touches on a lot more. Interesting watch.

LostinTexas
Sugar, flour, grains, fats!, and meat are staples and have been. Nothing has changed but our intake habits and the "enhancements" in our food. Damn near starved to death when I went to Israel. Hungry all the time. Then when I cam home, I was sick for months. The only thing that changed? The food supply. Diet, intake, snacks, activity, and prep was as identical as practical.

Maser
When I'm sick with a cold or flu I'm one of those guys that starves himself and stays medicated to sleep through it all. I swear nothing beats a nice rare NY cut steak with corncobs as the first meal I eat when I feel better. I almost instantly feel the energy from the animal protein. Walt Longmire
Had Alaska Salmon last night. I have moose thawed out for tonight. Might cook up some prawns to go with it, BTW, don't eat farmed fish.
