Administrators Eric Posted November 27, 2022 Administrators Share Posted November 27, 2022 This is my favorite scene of my favorite LotR movies. Well, this and the Ent attack that follows. 2

gwalchmai
I read an interview with Christopher Lee in which he said that as of Jackson's filming Lee had read the Trilogy every year since it was first published.
janice6
Courage, conviction, and camaraderie. We could use some of this today.
Batesmotel
I used to read the Hobbit every summer and the Lord of the Rings every fall. Now about every 4 years. Last Christmas my daughter bought me The History of Middle Earth. I’m slowing slugging my through that. Good reading but it is the definition of a Tome.
Paul53
Read The Hobbit and The Trilogy in the 70's. This film version I thought was very well done. I hadn't expected much because other series such as Dune when put in film, the best I can say is they tried. Samuel Jackson deserves serious praise for his creation.
ChuteTheMall
I read the books in the late 70's when I commuted to work in DC in the winter. The still-under construction Metro and connecting bus routes in the snow and fog added a quiet, mysterious environment for daily reading. Especially at the Arlington Cemetary stop where the train was above ground and the fog and snow and grave markers all mingled in the dawn/dusk. I know Peter Jackson is not related to Samuel Jackson.
Al Czervik
I admit, I must be a dinosaur. I have neither read them, nor seen the films.
