I was quite naive, but if orientation includes learning to use a shotgun, a scope mounted .308 rifle and a .38 revolver, what's the harm. Enjoyed the target practice and continued the edumacation on my own. Heard the talk, nee propaganda especially about the AR. Histrionics in my opinion and blew it off, especially upon hearing a reporters voice go up an octave or two when saying "Semi-automatic." It was obvious it was out of ignorance. For many years I continued to ignore the bad press, after all it was civilian soldiers that left British rule behind out of necessity. THEN, TONIGHT on the CBS news was another story about civilians shooting each other but then a shock, the reporter added a phrase I'd never heard before "Big military style KNIVES!"
