railfancwb
My employer was on the other side of a bankruptcy and the bankruptcy court tried to “claw back” some money paid to us. The court claimed that money was a gift rather than payment for services rendered. My employer prevailed. https://www.sovereignman.com/podcast/ftx-it-takes-a-village-to-fail-this-big-144382/ The link says that… “Most notably, Sam Bankman-Fried [company founder and CEO] became the #6 biggest political donor in the United States; 99.6% of his contributions went to progressive candidates.” Wonder if any efforts will be made to “claw back” those political contributions? If there is such effort, will the recipients claim the money was payment for services rendered rather than contributions? If such claims are successfully asserted will the contributions become 1099 income? 1 2
