Oct 21 (Reuters) - Regulations prohibiting the sale, purchase or transfer of handguns within Canada took effect on Friday, as Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the measure builds on earlier efforts banning handgun imports.

The handgun freeze was announced in May alongside proposed legislation that would implement the nation's strongest gun control measures in 40 years as part of Trudeau's plan to tackle gun violence, his office said.

But the freeze was criticized by the government of the western province of Alberta, which has previously said it will resist other gun control measures proposed by Ottawa.

"We have frozen the market for handguns in this country," Trudeau said at a news conference in Surrey, British Columbia, attended by family members of gun violence victims and other advocates.

"As we see gun violence continue to rise... we have an obligation to take action," Trudeau added.

"Today our national handgun freeze is coming into force."

Yeah, that'll help... :(

Matt Christiansen does a good follow-up on the story out of Great Falls, MT about the Canadian cop doing surveillance on American gun show attendees that I posted an article on a few weeks ago. This is against the backdrop of it just becoming illegal to own a handgun in Canada, by decree of dictator Justin Castro.

The RCMP were running the plates of the American car owners at the gun show, they have to be careful when they cross the border into Canada.

First you freeze handguns. Then when handguns don't move around the public, you know that they are staying put.  When they are staying put you tell people to give them up or you will come to get them since you know where they are.  This is the prelude to the end.  The end, if the citizen's of Canada don't do something drastic they are toast.  When you are not armed you can't resist any government action. Tyranny follows absolute control.  Pay attention, our government is watching to see what the people do so they can prepare for us.

Freedom!!   That incredible shrinking commodity, as yet another socialist utopian leader makes a decision that he feels his constituents are incapable of making for themselves.  And, his reasoning is flawed....

People claim that if you outlaw guns in the hands of people there will be less crime.  The number of guns in a group, defines the criminals.

Crime is defined as:

1. An act committed in violation of law where the consequence of conviction by a court is punishment, especially where the punishment is a serious one such as imprisonment.

2. Unlawful activity.

3. A serious offense, especially one in violation of morality.

Therefore, the expectation is that one group will have fewer guns, (the people)  while the other group will have the majority of the guns (the government)

The  conclusion is that the group with the most guns is the group committing the crime.  This says that government, by virtue of "gun control" over citizens will be the  criminals since they have the most guns.

In history this has been proven true time and time again.  The lesson is: Keep your guns and keep your freedom and safety from the government - The greatest criminal threat to the public.
