pipedreams
Gilmar Silva is a Brazilian photographer from the city of Cascavel, Ceará, who has achieved great success on his social media by showing the making-of of his photos. In comparison, we can see the location of where the photos were taken and how they look after editing.

We don't realize that we see these skills everyday, we just don't see the before shot. Almost anyone can do this one even with a phone camera.

Should I be defendant in court - civil or criminal - I would be extremely skeptical of photographic evidence presented against me and want a skilled expert to debunk Photoshop alterations - if such could be found. With film largely gone from common use, tracing back to an original negative is usually not possible.
Batesmotel
There is still great demand for film photographers in patent, copyright, intellectual property and product development areas. 4X5 color slides are absolute evidence in court. The original cannot be faked. I am still asked to shoot 4X4 Chromes for documentation work. There also is an entire field of forensics dealing with digital images. It is real easy to show if an image has been altered. In legal cases they don’t want to see a print. For evidence they want the digital file. 2

Experts can tell how-many time a photo has been altered. A photo can look quite different simply by using different lens & setting, filters or simply cropping without using photoshop. Way before digital photography photographers were using their skills to provide pleasing photos of things rather plain to the normal eye.
janice6
My daughter is a Graphic Designer and an artist. She has never used Photoshop. She said it doesn't offer her the necessary functions she needs. She has used Photo Illustrator for ever and even has the pro version in her personal portfolio. We had several discussions long ago when I used Photoshop for some menial work. She does design for importers, and her designs are used to have Asian company workers create to her specifications. She says that to be able to pull away layers from the composite pictures allows changes to ease manufacturing since some things are easier to do for foreign "replicators". If you ask her what she does for a living she will tell you that she makes "landfill". The crap that you buy in stores because it's cute or appropriate to a season.
