They are in reserve/ support roles except for one unit: Caracal Battalion, and a few others assigned to the "Lions of Jordan" and the "Cheetah" battalions. They are used as a dog and pony show to virtue signal how progressive they are. Even in those battalions, the women are kept as far from the action as possible, and their performance has been decidedly mixed. Although you wouldn't know that from reading the glowing, carefully cherry-picked PR press about them. Everyone who supports women in combat and doesn't want to know the facts always brings up the Israeli army. It's a myth. And the Israeli army hasn't, isn't, and won't be engaged with a first-world peer enemy since the integration of women into combat units. Several women applied so they lowered the standards for the physical agility testing. I was amazed at the number of guys that washed out anyway. Couldn't do the basic tasks. Not just the person that can only meet the lowered standards but not the original, higher ones. And it drives me nuts that the politicians in charge don’t give a damn about this, but only care how “inclusive “ it makes them look when they vote for this kind of insanity.
