Varley was pretty creative, if a bit nutty. I always wanted Hollywood to do the trilogy, but not so much anymore. They'd probably make Titanides out of Shetland Ponies and Angels would look like Spooge's Woman... :(

That trilogy has far too many subtleties and nuances that Hollywood could never understand, much less portray.

However, creating all of the weird lifeforms in the story would be a special effects person's delight.

When I first read the series, Pam  Grier  was in my mind for the Cirroco Jones character.
