Oh Happy Day! Oh Happy Day!

When liberals have to deal with the consequences of their actions.

Quote

On Thursday, Oberlin College and Conservatory said it would pay a $36.59 million judgment to Gibson Bakery after the Ohio Supreme Court ruled on August 30 not to take up the college's appeal of a lower court ruling that upheld the judgment.
"The power of truth has enabled the Gibson family to survive Oberlin's onslaught," attorney Brandon W. McHugh, representing the bakery owners, said in a statement. "Truth Still Matters, David can still overcome Goliath."
Oberlin, in a statement, said it would not pursue the matter further and called the decision disappointing.

Didn't Biden just forgive college debt?

This liberal bastion of Minnesota found out about the student debt forgiveness and couldn't pass up a tax on those students.  Ha  Ha  Ha.  liberals will even eat their own when they have a chance to take money away from people.  Unfortunately, Minnesota Democrats will see this as simply another cost of doing business.

It's not just Minnesota with their eyes on the cash.  A number of states are considering the same thing.

They'll probably survive.

https://oberlinreview.org/23201/news/college-endowment-surpasses-1-billion/

In November [2021], the College’s endowment surpassed $1 billion for the first time in Oberlin’s history, and currently stands at $1.09 billion. The endowment increased by around $63 million in the five months between June and November. The College has also fared better than expected in regards to COVID-related losses. Last June the College anticipated a one-time deficit of $44.7 million, but its most recent estimates fall in the range of $13.5 to $20 million.
