RANT STARTS    :shooting-two-guns:

To whom (who) ever decided to put the controls for the stove at the back of the top....what kind of moron does that

I have 3 burners (electric, so I guess the proper term is elements) on and I needed to adjust the "heat", so reach over the steaming

pots and get a nice burning feeling on my arm   WHOEVER YOU ARE YOU PROBABLY NEVER COOKED A MEAL IN YOUR LIFE  ASSWIPE.   :nono:

Who prefers controls where children can reach them?

Yeah it just got to me today how stupid that is,,,,as far as "It's for the CHILDREN" HAVE A CUTOFF CONTROL....And IIRC most accidents that kids have is pulling a hot pot off the stove and scalding themselves...my kids learned  early ,,,,, NOT TO TOUCH THE STOVE

Someday you'll learn how to reach around instead of over the hot burners.:dunno:

Sounds to me like someone installed your cook top backwards.

However, none of this matters if you just adopt my philosophy on cooking......... If you cant nuke it, F' it! :)

 There's these things called children.

You might have heard of them.

Yeah...those annoying expensive things that run amok in your house for about 20 years...

WE TRAINED THEM NOT TO TOUCH THE STOVE

Way back in the day a friends munchkins were at my house. One of them headed straight towards my Pioneer speakers that had the covers off, finger sticking out like he was going to poke it. A quick twist of the volume knob and Jr. fell straight back on his butt. Was no longer interested in the speakers.

Yes, heard of those. Two generations of them scattered out through the years, and none of them ran the house, and knew it from the start.

Can't say the same about some of them at home, but that is another rant.

During the war my father worked at the Twin Cities Arsenal.  50 caliber ammo plant.

He brought home all the steps in making a shell, from the brass billet to the drawn cases, up to a finished product.

He brought home variations of the bullets, from a plain copper/lead, to tracer and armor piercing rounds.  It was quite a collection, all the steps to make various versions of the 50 caliber shell.

One day he came home and I was making something on the stove, while I had carelessly left the live tracer bullet laying near a burner.  He quickly grabbed it and put it on the table.  It was quite hot.

He never criticized me for cooking things, just got pissed when it was live ammunition.
