Religion at it's worst

Not religion at its worst, best or otherwise.

One evil galoot claiming to know what God wants.

No different than what some homosexual people want for the rest of us.

I say, fine.

Let all of the evil folks all line up against each other, shoot it out.

We finish off the survivors and bury the dead.

Sun comes up on no more hate and a much better world.

So someone decides that the government should shoot people he/she doesn't like.

Government is all too willing to single out groups to punish for any reason that politicians feel goes against what they want.

Homosexuals this time.  People of certain religions that advocate killing others the next time.  People that don't vote the "right" way the next time.

People that criticize what others or the government advocates the next time.  People that look a certain way the next time.

People of a certain color the next time.  People that are educated "properly or improperly" the next time.  And so on and so on.

Where is the line drawn to stop this "selective killing"?  Who decides who to kill, and for what reason?

This is the insanity bred from intolerance.  This is the insanity driven from splitting society into selective groups then pitting groups against one another.

This is the insanity that never ends till society itself is dead and gone. this starts with a call for tolerance and then each group saying they are the only right group.  The groups prove to be mostly intolerant of anyone else.  When you celebrate "diversity" you are creating new groups to pit against other groups.

A society consists of those people with like goals and aims.  It doesn't exist to exaggerate differences, it exists to let all people live their lives to the fullest without harming others.  Our country originally claimed to be for coexistence with freedom and equality.  We now are bombarded with reasons that people should be denied their freedom and equality just because of their divergent beliefs.

Nothing good can come of the desire to punish simply because you (rhetorical you) disagree with another for any reason.  ANY REASON.

Just remember when you go down this path, the end result is the YOU will be on the list next!

We have been led to believe that because someone has different opinions than us, we must punish them or get rid of them.  Where did this level of insanity start in our society.

Why of course!  It starts with our educational process.  We are taught that someone has the only "right" approach to a problem and since they have some nebulous credentials, they are the expert at deciding who to punish and who to not.

We then go from education which teaches that diverse opinions are bad, to political decisions teaching us that diverse opinions are bad.  From there we digress to governments deciding that diverse opinions are bad.

All this crap and insanity come from the idea that every one belongs in a particular group and that group must stop another group from thinking differently.

When we started this country we all believed in liberty, opportunity, and tolerance.  Now look at us!  Everyone at each others throat because we can't stand to hear criticism.

Diverse opinions are the way to solve problems, there are no absolutes in creating a society for all, just acceptance that each of us is different in many ways and yet we are all equal, with the requirement that we don't cause others harm just for their beliefs.

We are killing ourselves by our own bigotry.  Don't listen to government in this, they have never proven to be right in all things but mostly wrong in everything.

"Awes claimed the Bible’s solution to what he called the “sodomite deception” is queer people “should be lined up against the wall and shot in the back of the head.”

I'm certain it arises out of ignorance, which he seems to have plenty of, but...why is a wall necessary? I would figger you could do without a wall....but maybe it depends on caliber choice. Or arrow...spear...sword...

Just sayin'. I reckon.

NAZIs lined people up alongside a ditch and shot them.

How much does his flock pay him to say these things? Tax free?

Question, is a ministers salary and church employees tax free or is it taxable.  Churches don't pay taxes on money donated to them and don't pay property taxes.  They do have to pay on certain properties and other things.

So this guy called for gays to be killed? He didn't actually kill any gays, though, huh? I'd say he's still a LONG way from being near religion's worst. Hell, muslims kill more than that on a slow Tuesday afternoon.

Money earned is taxable but property and money held by the church are not taxed. The trick is to take a small salary and pay the tax but live off of untaxed church funds. Like letting the church own the house, cars, yacht, airplane etc. And make all your expenses, “church is expenses”. Make all food, travel, and other expenses payable by the church. And build a big church owned portfolio that you receive as a retirement. Dirty business but it can be done legally by a good accountant.

Bunch of churches losing their minds in both direction.  We just revoked our membership in one that went crazy in the same direction as the loon in the original post... it starts with "Women can't teach boys 13 or older" and "Women can't teach men, "  and "Women and their immodest clothing is to blame for men sinning..."  Then the pastor decides he doesn't have to answer to the elders, and the elders decide they don't answer to the congregation, and half the congregation decides the other half that doesn't agree with any of this is evil and should be yanked up like "weeds" (Yeah, that's about the nicest thing we were called).  Anyway, they made the church a very, very unsafe place to be a woman or a child.  I give it two years before the first incident of sexual abuse occurs... but the pastor will cover it up like his idol (yes, I chose that word on purpose), John MacArthur, has done repeatedly, because doing anything else will damage his golden calf/cash cow.

Around here the Church of Satan (that's what they call themselves) is calling for children to be mutilated in name of love for satan. Basically they are demanding that parents "transition" their children, as young as toddlers, to the opposite gender. It's a crazy world right now, and getting worse.

For perspective a lot of “witches” were executed by religious groups, often after torture.

Classic was to bind the accused and throw them into a pond. If they came to the surface it proved they were witches and they were burned at the stake. If they drowned it proved they were not witches and thus were buried in the church graveyard.

BTW… cemetery vs graveyard… difference.

I am aware of the distinction between a graveyard and a cemetery, but perhaps others are not.

Care to enlighten them?

The 'swimming test' was real, except the accused was more often than not pulled ashore and then burned at the stake or hung rather than allowed to drown.

Hangings and burnings made for much more public participation, not only because of more space for the mob around the stake or the gibbet, but the condemned would be visible as they struggled.

"Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me remove the speck from your eye'; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."-Matthew 7:1-5

Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother. Romans 14:13

this "Pastor" is an Idiot, by his own Beliefs he is Condemning himself to an Equal Punishment he Believes will happen to Homosexuals.

so in a sense he will get to spend Eternity with Gay Men.

Cemetery = any place designated for burials

Geaveyard = consecrated or sanctified or holy ground used for burial of the “saved”. Specifically part of church grounds.

A church may, and often has, provided ground for the unsaved in addition to the holy ground reserved for the saved.

So a church can maintain a cemetery part of which qualifies to be called a graveyard while the rest does not.
