Walt Longmire
It's bone dry in my part of Alaska. Only a couple tiny rain sprinkles since the last snows in March. No rain in the forecast. Burn ban with the exception of small campfires. I fail to understand why tourists who have no skin in can still have a camp fire. It's starting to look a lot like 2019 when hundreds of thousand of acres burned on the Kenai Peninsula. The Swan Lake fires. So tired of this.
Huaco Kid
We've had a good thunderstorm every week, for the last six months. It won't stop. We can't have campfires, because everything is too soggy to catch.
Cougar_ml
Here they can't make up their minds. snowpack is 150% normal, but they are trying to claim it will be a bad year for fires because it's been so dry...

Batesmotel
This weekend is the first rain we’ve seen in ages. Our water levels are real bad. Not just the reservoirs but the deep aquifers. That takes many good years in a row to refill. We are guaranteed another bad fire year.
gwalchmai
Big slow overnight rain three days ago, followed by sunny mid-70s days. My grass is looking like JungleLand.

Walt Longmire
That proposed road is so far out from anywhere, it is just a speck. But it would allow the people in the village 8-10 miles away to access an all weather airport in the event of a medical emergency. But we can't risk the life of a spectacled plover to save the life of a human.
