gwalchmai
If your daughter, whom your clients had never met, were getting married, would you send wedding invitations to clients with whom you have no personal or social relationship? Seems a little on the tacky side to me. I'm gonna regift 'em a vase, or maybe a labelmaker.
Batesmotel
We had a huge reception. Most were business associates of her father. Total pain in the ass but we got a lot of nice gifts. I wouldn’t do it.
kerbie18
Did you receive such a wedding invitation? As for myself, my business clients are criminals, so I wouldn't invite them to my daughter's wedding. 2

Re-gifting something you don't want anyway is a win-win scenario. You wouldn't want to be rude to a business client. But yeah, it's tacky.

Mrs.Cicero
Well, if I'm paying for my daughters' weddings, we're not inviting anyone's business clients. That just seems like a tacky attempt to get more gifts. The only people invited will be ones who know the couple getting married personally, or are blood relatives it would cause a problem with to NOT invite.
Huaco Kid
Is the company logo on the invites? Maybe they're trying for a write-off.

When I did construction remodels, I became friends with some my clients and if I had a daughter they would get invited. But since the father of the bride is supposed to pay for the wedding it would have had to be a minimally catered reception, strictly BYOB.
gwalchmai
My daughter got married last summer, and I invited no clients. Of course, I'm retired, but still... She got no labelmakers, either.
