Annual hatred for IRS is complete.

I finally finished the taxes.  The federal gov't owed me $200 more than I owed the state gov't.  I always try to end up not owing and not getting anything back, and that's pretty close to the goal.  I still hate IRS.  They couldn't write a decent direction for pulling your hand out of a paper bag if you held a gun to their heads.

Now I get to start working on the student aid crapola for oldest daughter, who has used up all the education fund money and will now have to borrow some to finish school.  At least she has sense enough to be majoring in Supply Chain Management rather than "We don't know how to define a gender Studies" (Which I'd refuse to help pay for anyway).

I need to get back into my garden to restore my sanity.

My computer crawled out - bad motherboard. So I have that hard drive, now packaged as an external, and a new-to-me computer to set up and see if that external drive will do what needs to be done.

For awhile I moonlighted doing tax returns for friends and family. Routinely got the six month extension. After I stopped moonlighting I stopped “needing” an extension. If I don’t get a move on I will need an extension this year.

Given the amount of federal expenditures now made with borrowed money which can never be repaid, why don’t they scrap taxes and go straight to printing press money?

Between my retirement, executorizinging my mom's estate, and my stepdad's trust, I gave up doing my taxes a few years ago and now I have a nice lady in ATL who does it all for me. I just throw all my tax forms into an envelope and UPS 'em down to her (I scan 'em first). She saves me at least twice what she charges every year.
