railfancwb
There are a lot of famous novels. What are some you’ve tried but can’t get into? One such for me is “Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy” 2

Silentpoet
Not really a novel, but the Godfather movies. They are based on a novel if that counts. Just too long and never appealed to me.

Huaco Kid
I recently read Catcher in the Rye and Slaughterhouse Five. Mainly because they are notoriously banned, and I shouldn't read them. Nothing. A kid having a bad day, and a war story. Not one singe thing wrong with either of them. Just skip Atlas Shrugged. Get the Cliff Notes. I just found The Turner Diaries at a used store. It's supposed to be a little off, and one of the most widely banned. (can't get it on amazon). We'll see. I'm on a banned book kick. I wonder if Huck Finn will learn me new words. 2

railfancwb
I pick up Atlas Shrugged, see three inches of pages with tiny type, and put it down.
janice6
I was in my teens and in a wild as moment, I chose War and Peace. (I did read the Bible so I'm not a novice at this) Dumbest choice I have ever made! I got about a third into it and all the Russian names started to be the same. I quit and vowed never to think of it again. I read reference manuals and the plot along with the process is infinitely easier to follow. This was the most boring thing I have ever read. Now I know how the Russians are so full of anger and want to take it out on the satellite countries. Someone probably made them read the book. 3
