pipedreams
Someone is going to cry................ The 650-feet-long Felicity Ace vessel was carrying 4,000 vehicles to the US when it sent a distress signal. The ship, which is 650 feet long, was traveling from Emden in Germany to Davisville in the United States when a fire broke out near the Azores island of Faial. The only thing that matters here is that there were no casualties among the workers. https://www.rt.com/news/549688-cargo-ship-fire-atlantic-cars/
Fog
Sure seems like a lot of those car shipping ships catch fire.
ChuteTheMall
This only happens to imported cars. 2
Batesmotel
Most of them would have been pre-sold. Demand is that high.
Administrators Eric Posted February 18, 2022 Administrators Share Posted February 18, 2022 Tom Clancy published a book called Debt of Honor, back in 1994. The book was about a modern war with Japan. He mentioned a Japanese car carrier that the Japanese used in the book when they took over Guam. The ship was the Orchid Ace. There is currently a sister ship to the Felicity Ace called Orchid Ace, but it was built in 2008. Perhaps it replaced the older ship of the same name. I don’t know why that useless factoid popped to the surface in my head when I read the story linked to above.
Fog
Those car ships have a big wake. Seems they are designed for speed and not as much for fuel economy. Always give them a wide berth in my little boat.
DAKA
Some, maybe MOST of those PORSCHES are SPECIAL ORDER CARS that people have been waiting up to a year to have delivered... Reordering will make them wait another year or more....high demand, especial;y for the MACAN'S
Administrators Eric Posted March 2, 2022 Administrators Share Posted March 2, 2022 The Felicity Ace took on water and sank earlier, while it was being towed to Portugal. It went down in more than 10,000 feet of water. They are saying that the fire may have been started by the battery on an electric car onboard. The value of the loss is said to be around 438 million dollars.
Administrators Eric Posted March 2, 2022 Administrators Share Posted March 2, 2022 What if EVs have become self-aware? This could be a case of a sentient EV sacrificing itself in a suicide attack to take out thousands of its fossil-fuel rivals. It's a brave new world, boys and girls. Judgement day is coming. 2
janice6
Get yourself a long-insulated pole with a conductor tip and a ground stake. Then tell those electric cars to try their best! GROUND and discharge them all!

Some have suggested that electric cars not be parked in an attached garage or a basement garage because of the spontaneous fire hazard.

Imagine how spontaneous it would be if the owner knew something about Hillary. 1
