It’s like being drunk without the fun parts. In a few minutes I get a shot in my left eye.

It's weird being able to know they are working on your eyes.

Cataract surgery was bizarre.  They slice the cornea at the edge and pop the lens out from the edge, then roll up the plastic lens and push it into the cut where it unrolls.

Now I only have stigmatism.  It's spooky to be conscious of all the strange stuff they do to your eyes while you "watch".

Hope your experience is a good one.

The whole process when I had it done wasn't bad.  Now taking the three different eye drops afterwards was a process.  Understand they have made that a lot simpler.

Two or three years ago I was scheduled for cataract surgery. Had done the “before” drops. They started to roll me into the actual surgical room and my blood pressure spiked. They unhooked everything and hustled me out a side door. Maybe so that if I stroked out they could say “Not our fault”. Still haven’t had the surgery…

The weird part is seeing the bubble form when they inject it. Then for a day or so the spot in my vision. One time I thought it was a mouse climbing up the side of the tub. I was trying to figure out how a mouse could do that when I realized what I was seeing.

I did have to take Prednisone eye drops and developed a growth on the eyelid from them.   Some months later I was taken off all eye drops, and my vision is now excellent.  Albeit, with stigmatism.

Afterwards I went to have the growth cut off and I was surprised at how well the woman Dr. did the job, from the pain killer injections to the witty remarks during her cutting.  She was fun.

I like a repartee during, it calms me.  I did believe she was excellent at her job and commented to the clinic about it.  She had an elderly Dr. observing and I wondered if it were some sort of qualification she had to go through periodically.
