I was once flipping through the car radio stations and I heard the commercial, in a deep relaxing voice say, "Wwwiiiiiiiiiisssshhhhhh.  WISH Golden Oldies.  All oldies,  all the time."

Then it broke into an unexpectedly loud, "I MET A GIN SOAKED BARROOM QUEEN IN MEMPHIS......."

jeeze.

It kills me how many albums “got lost” when my mom was cleaning my room.

Funny thing was nothing ever actually got cleaned. Albums got lost, “the wind” blew posters off the wall when she opened the window to air my room out and “the dogs” broke my guitars. But nothing else ever moved.

I know, right? I had a two-foot high stack of comic books that "disappeared" when I joined the AF.

Marines here. Bulk was still there but my sister took everything of value.

Funny how you find out the depth of the care people claim to have for you when you aren't there.  Sorry for your experience.

Mine did confirm that I alone was responsible for my life and no one else really mattered.  Then I met my future wife.  To this day I know she cares - Even when I'm not there to remind her.  I guess trading my so-called family for my wife was the best deal I ever made.  Met her when I was 16 and my feelings for her are still the same now as they were back then.

As cool as it probably was to be a kid in the 70s, I'm glad I was born in 89 and grew up as a 90s kid where boys and men weren't wearing Daisy Dukes.  I had to wear those faggy things once when I was like 5 and you wouldn't believe the ridicule I received for it!
