It looks to dangerous to try to remove the car. It should stay there until they can remove it with a backhoe.

at that point the recovery is a Hook up and Yank, the Hook isn`t gonna Damage anything more and the Tow Driver can boom up to it.

A lady here drove past the Road Closed sign, orange barrels, flashing barricades, flagger in an orange vest waving his hands and screaming at her.

Right into an 11 foot deep trench. Car was bad. The crane totaled it pulling it out. The damage she did to the new water main and associated valves was far more than the value of the car.

She said she didn’t see anything.

Tow company did a video later that showed the rear tires on the lift, and the boom extended out and cables running to each side to a front wheel.  They got it out, but no idea how much additional damage was done to the car.

Apparent age of the car, it was de facto totaled before the tow truck arrived on tge scene.

And now for "what happens when you park in the middle of moving water on beach sand...

so the beach has some small streams that flow out into the ocean.  For whatever reason that's the location the truck stopped.  No idea if it stalled or died or if the driver was just trying to collect insurance on it.

Tow truck snapped a cable and the frame of the truck got tweaked, so definitely a total loss.

When you have to get a track-hoe to pull you out you are screwed. The mine charged over $1000 cash to bring the hoe. He had to sign a damage waiver. And yes they damaged it. He drove right past several people warning him not to go out into the mud flats. But what would locals know?

So obviously the people that drive vehicles around here aren't all that bright.

In today's episode, we have truck vs railroad crossing...

Ok, so more to this story.  Apparently driver of the blue truck swerved to avoid a drunk driver coming at him head on.

Years ago, I had a suspect in a vehicle pursuit try to beat a train at a crossing to get away from us. He drove through the crossing bar, not around it. This was right outside a rail yard, so the train was crawling across the crossing at walking speed. The suspect almost made it, almost. He slammed into the front corner of the train engine.

The car was horribly mangled, but the front door still opened. We pulled out the suspect and handcuffed him on the ground. It was at that point we realized something was very wrong. His butt was facing almost forward with respect to the top half of his body. His spine must have been snapped, and he couldn't feel his legs. Stupid definitely hurts....
