Administrators Eric Posted December 29, 2021 Administrators Share Posted December 29, 2021 The summit of Donner Pass, in California, received sixteen feet of snow in December 2021. This beat the previous record, set in 1970, by about one and a half feet. I love that the spellchecker tried repeatedly to change ‘Donner’ to ‘dinner’, when I typed it just now. 5 5

I drove Monarch Pass in Colorado earlier this week- aaaaaand I'm done with that mess for the season.

Dukenukem
I would like to see the rotaries in person. To my knowledge they are still steam powered and in the video they looked like they were venting steam. I think the reporter meant they were converted to oil fueled. One thing I'm sure of, they ain't going to use electric till they develop a pretty big battery.

Some have been converted by hooking diesel traction motors to the blade. They have a diesel locomotive behind providing electricity for those motors. Other diesel locomotives push and pull.
