Sitting on a powder keg: Armed conflict with Russia appears inevitable – are we facing WWIII?

This does not sound good and very little is being said in this country.

"While the U.S. media has (for the most part) pretty much ignored the news coming out of the Russia-Ukrainian border, things appear to be much different in the former Soviet state.

Law Enforcement Today has filed a number of reports over the increased tensions simmering between Russia and Ukraine, and by extension NATO.

Just a couple of weeks ago, Russian president Vladimir Putin had a virtual meeting with our “leader” Joe Biden, who warned of “consequences” if Russia invaded Ukraine.

So scared of Biden was Putin that he committed an additional 10,000 troops to the Ukrainian border. He’s seen Biden’s “red line” before when he was vice president under Obama.

We’re 20 days away from the expiration of the ultimatum and the stakes are rising, even though it seems they couldn’t be any higher.”

The NATO “ultimatum” is a security treaty between Russia and the United States, which demands NATO roll back military deployments in Europe, while forbidding Ukraine and other countries which formerly were states under the Soviet Union from securing membership in the multi-national organization.

Russia boasted it would place intermediate-range nuclear weapons on its Western border, which would put them in striking distance of central Europe, a development which would be the first time this had occurred since a 1987 treaty signed between American President Ronald Reagan and Russian President Mikhail Gorbachev."

So  a publication that, based on its name, is concerned with law enforcement in the United States expands their interests into geopolitical tensions?

What do they suggest that anyone do, arrest Mr. Putin?

One must question not only the expertise of the article, but the reasoning as well.

Mr. Putin can get whatever concession he wants from the United States and the European Union without firing a shot or threatening to fire a shot.

He simply tells Europe that all of the natural gas that heats their homes and powers their electricity comes from him; he can and will make it all stop, especially now that fellow traveler Biden has removed the sanctions that were making Mr. Putin more cautious.

And he doesn't need to  tell Biden the buffoon anything, all he need do is just look scary and Biden will fold like a cheap tent.  That, or offer Hunter Biden a few million dollars to betray America yet again.

War is expensive and Russia's economy is not robust.

Why would anyone with half a brain start a war, devastate an already weak economy when all Putin has to do is rattle a few sabers?

What, exactly, is the United States’ compelling interest in the Ukraine which is not a NATO member? If the USA and NATO continue to place “offensive” weapons ever closer to Russia - no longer USSR - we might find missiles appearing in Cuban and Venezuelan lands. Air bases as well. And Biden is no JFK.

Ok. Now I understand. And didn’t one of Obama’s shining stars help overthrow a duly elected government in Ukraine?

A lot of the dirty deeds done dirt cheap here in the US are brought about using Ukrainian assests. They are like one stop shopping for democrat thugs.

If Putin rolled in and cleaned those rats out our media would scream he was doing it for Trump.

I gave it a couple weeks to check things from a distance, but I'm done for good.

TBS is now officially infiltrated with senseless memes and image spamming, in the thousands every week, as well as paranoia fueled garbage "news".

Sad.

If I understand it correctly, this is all about the agreement signed in 1987.  The treaty signed between American President Ronald Reagan and Russian President Mikhail Gorbachev is about to expire causing all the bluster.   Cornpops at the helm representing us isn't in our best interest.

With all the fear tactics and Covid coverage in the media I doubt there are many people in this country that could actually tell you what is going on with the Ukraine/Russia thing.  Putin wants a buffer zone on his border and the US & Europe keep pushing the issue.

There ain't much of a best case scenario there for us. The people that live in that part of Ukraine are Russians, and welcome them. It's what they do. That area and all points south, the Volgograd Gap, is the soft underbelly of the Bear. An area Russia has always been willing to go to war over. **** with it, they might lob nukes. Probably worth it, for them. Indefensible, wide open flat land.

No war with Russia or China is possible with Numbnuts Biden as Commander-in-Chief. He's on their side and he'll just give them what ever they want and continue to allow our military to deteriorate and become more "woke" so that when we have a REAL president our military will be insufficient for even defensive purposes and the country will be bankrupt and we won't be unable to rebuild.

The United States is China's biggest export market, source of innovative advanced science for them to steal  and a major  source of capital financing.

Why would they ever want to have a war with us, especially when our so-called leaders can be bought cheaply and American companies can be ripped off so easily?

Russian, Chinese and EU leaders are all sitting back laughing their asses off as American culture disintegrates and we go from super power to bickering, spoiled  child.

Putin plays the long game. He is in office for life. He is in no rush to bring the USSR back.

He was KGB. When the USSR fell, billions in gold vanished. No one has found it. The KGB was in charge of the operation. Putin himself has taken well over $200,000,000,000 from the Russian Republic. He is just biding his time and he was handed a godsend in Biden.

The United States has a strategic interest in Taiwan remaining a democracy.

Probably 65% of the electrical components that make our military stuff, not to mention consumer goods,  work is manufactured in Taiwan or South Korea

Another 30% is made in China.

Very little is made in the USA.

Do you really want communist China controlling 100% of US strategic electronics?.

I betcha Brandon and his ilk along with every congress member and senator are fine with that, as long as they continue to get their pay-off.

America has a moral obligation to defend Israel, despite their sinking the USS Liberty with a loss of 34 lives during the Six Day War.

Some of us haven't forgotten.

These dirtbags not paying their fair share for their own defense is irritating. Some of their behavior is worse. Our so called allies need a shake up. Tiawan may be worth saving, but it'll take an administration with serious stones to ensure it.

NATO has become  a junior version of the United Nations.

It exists to spend US taxpayer's money.

Who really believes that NATO will ever honor their defense obligations to member nations?

If you do, there's a bridge in Brooklyn that may also interest you.

I have a funny feeling Article V will be tested soon. I'll put my faith in AUKUS, and the anglosphere as a whole first. But we gotta get the French on board too. Other than the Visegrad, they're the only other Europeans worth a damn for US interests.

This is the first time in years this county hasn't been entangled in some sort of war.  Is Biden and the democrats crazy enough to keep poking the bear hoping to create a conflict in their quest to maintain power.  While it's history, look how Roosevelt keep embargoes on Japan until WWII happened.  Then he became the great hero for getting us out of the great depression.  Just some thoughts, I known it is a complex issue.
