No such thing as a free dog.

A week ago she showed up on my front porch. Today she got her first vet appointment.  Sweet personality and no accidents in the house yet.  Shaggy gets along with her but is a bit jealous.

she is intact and may have had a litter the vet said. She is roughly 1 and a half years old.  So in early December I scheduled a spay appointment.  Like I said no such thing as a free dog.

the neighbor kids have named her Maggie so I think I will go with that..

We had an 'ol retriever-looking dog show up at the bottom back door.  He looked very old because he had a full gray beard and mustache and was pretty fat.  And he looked very confused.  And blind.   And liked LOUDLY barking at me,  even when I was feeding him.

He hung around for a couple days and took off.  Probably belongs to a farmer,  over one of the hills.
