According to the US Geological Survey, a cumulus cloud that is 1 cubic kilometer in size weighs around 1.1 million pounds.

I once deployed my parachute before hitting a big cumulus, (and waaaay too high)  in a jump I shouldn't have made,  and got yelled at later for it.

I deployed,  because I saw the first group disappear into it,  and instantly thought they might deploy,  and that would be a disaster.

I don't know how much it weighed.

But it was very instantly hot and humid.  Like jumping into a bathtub. Soaked.  And it had pressure.  Made my ears pop.

And was silence.

Like being buried in snow (which I have).  I couldn't hear myself yell.

And then I came out, blind, and landed on the runway.  Which will pretty much always get you yelled at.

And then I got yelled at.
