Batesmotel
China just announced that “Controls will remain in place after the Covid-19 virus is gone”. It’s not just about the bug. 1

One of the big ones is restricting movement in the cities. Must have papers and approval to move out of your building block. Even tighter control over media and communication between people and the outside world. New controls on banking and investments. Public shaming if you are in debt, unemployed or fall behind on bills or family obligations. This makes you an undesirable. As an undesirable you can be denied banking or employment. So if you lose a job, you can be denied another job. If you are a political undesirable and in debt you can be denied access to banking so you can’t pay the debt. This will make people subject to prison. State fires you, you are now undesirable, as so you can’t have a job, no job, prison. Most have nothing to do with public health but they used Covid as an excuse to expand control.

Maybe we should think about something like that here.
