Howdy Y'all. Enough of the niceties, this here is business.

Contact your state senators to support House Bill 1927. Passed by the House already, killed by Patrick, and now revived, probably after a proper amount of hate mail. Hit them both up, and pound their inboxes and voice mail. Be nice, courteous and don't screw it up like some probably well intended lobbyists did a few years ago. Just tell them to support it.

This one is going to Comity on Thursday and is supposed to be the only thing on the docket. It could be a full plate, and probably will. The same old "blood in the streets", "officers killed", "dead children", and the whole gamut they pulled out for CHL, and later, Open Carry is sure to be in full display. Of course, none of these has come to light in over 20 years.

Here is a link to find your representatives Who Represents Me

There is a second bill, Senate Bill 2224, that is full of loopholes, and rat traps. This one should not be supported, and isn't up for discussion, yet.

Time to put up or shut up. We have never been this close or had this meaningful a push.

You young'uns won't remember, but Ma Richards and the fascists promised blood in the streets, thousand of dead bodies piled on top of each other if concealed carry, even with the dumb restrictions, passed.

Dubya signed it in 1995, if I recall.

I guess there's folk out cleaning the pile of dead, bleeding bodies  up every night so we don't see them every morning.

Texas Republicans, both state and federal,  have proven in the past that they are spineless cowards that quiver at the thought of being called mean and racists and not being invited to the right parties and conferences with the globalist swells.

I fully expect them to wimp out yet again.

OK folks it is time to fill inboxes and answering services. House Bill 1927 went to the Senate on a 5-1 vote this evening. The timing is "next week", not sure when. It still gives several chances to send email and make calls.

Be polite. Be cordial. Being a tard does no good to anyone.

Contacts can be found in the OP

Go get 'em.

No argument, but several Texas Democrats voted for this bill in the House. 2-3 IIRC, but the big tell is all of them who didn't cast a vote. Doing so was a vote "For" the bill and they knew it, but had to make an image.

All the murder, mayhem, bodies piled in the streets rhetoric was present and in force. Just like the old arguments. Unsavory folks, criminals, druggies, and low life's having guns. Lions, tigers, and bears, Oh My.

All the unsavories have them anyway, so leveling the field is in order.

The movement is getting noticed. Paxton killed the bill and said it would never see the Senate floor. He got his mind changed. Now the committy made a 5-1 vote to send it to the floor for a vote. That there is some leverage. Keep the pressure on!

A real honest CCW holder in a real shoot out...is, thank God, pretty rare!

I'll be packing tomorrow at church.

Don't think anything will happen.  But hey.  I carry a first aid kit...and that gets used.

OK, this is the best I can come up with from the explanation I got.

18 for, 13 against. A few amendments, one kinda shady IMHO, but for now it is passing. It is absolutely party lines.

We have to wait 3 days and vote again, the third and final, unless it is waived, and that probably won't happen.

SO,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Keep those emails and phone calls going. It was pretty much party lines, so keep the heat on.

If someone has better, please explain it to all of us.

Y'all made this go this far, so make the effort to keep it going.

Everyone please stay in contact with your House Representative, Senators, and the Governors office.

This isn't a done deal yet. Keep the heat, it has been working so far and took us from not even making it to a Senate committee to passed.

Time is our enemy at the moment. Don't let this fizzle.

Don't let up.

Keeping this on the top page. OK folks, start drafting those letters and telling your reps what you think of the amendments. Three of them are pretty shaky and two in particular are troublesome, mostly for no guidance or follow through, and making a criminal out of someone probably just trying to mind their own business. This video is from another forum, thanks to danzig for posting this.

This is not the first time that our so-called representatives have mouthed the proper cheers and then just let legislation beneficial to the citizen die when the term expired

If they intended to get it done, it would be done, no?

Another example of the professional liars laughing their asses off at how gullible we all are at some big donor's party.

A pox on all of them.

Keep those messages coming. These people need to feel like they are in a pressure cooker. The session ends in 3 weeks and this needs to stay on the front burner.

The People have made a difference so far, but we can't claim a victory just yet.

Good that you maintain your optimism, amigo.

I wish that I could.

Watch the bill that outlaws mutilating five year olds who decide that they are the opposite sex fail to pass.

Walmart doesn't want it.

Prepare yourself for casinos in every Texas city with a population over 200,000.

They will tell us that all of the revenue generated by gambling will fund schools.

They lied about that in Missouri, they'll lie about it here.

If they want gambling in Texas, they will first have to get permission from communist China and Walmart.

The good news is, in a few more months there will be two million, illegal, low-wage workers available to fill those bus boy and janitor jobs not to mention the prostitution.

What has become of my country, I weep for thee.

Meh. The lottery was supposed to fund schools. I don't recall, but it gives a dismal quantity of funds to schools.

You can whine. Texans go to other states to gamble. That has been the larger obstacle to getting gambling passed. I don't partake, and those who do will just do it anyway, so we might as well get some of the revenue.

Not much we can do to stop the illegal infiltration/invasion. I have some great ideas, but they would not be popular. They would be effective.

You seem to be obsessing over Walmart. I don't care much for them, but since they have effectively run every other business out of the area of 100 miles around me, I shop there. When I can, I'll look elsewhere, but that isn't feasible very often.

One thing at a time. Start at the end and work your way to the other. The .gov is not doing us any favors, and never will. We had a pretty good run but everyone OBSESSED over bump stocks and mean tweets (what ever a twee is). How's that working for everybody?

It isn't Walmart's business I object to, it is Walmart's purchase and control of politicians, even in Texas.

Whether we shop there or not is irrelevant; the professional liars have been bought and paid for.

Have you noticed who is running the ads for casino gambling?  The big gaming and hotel corporations out of Las Vegas.

There is no one on our side.

Republican and conservative are just convenient labels anymore to hide  their true masters.

If you still believe that any politician represents you or your interests,  that is your privilege.

I expect the professional liars to act in their interest only; they support whatever aggrandizes and enriches themselves.

Texas is lost.

Every invader from Central America has a ballot marked for the hippie socialists in their hands and  a coupon for free everything payable by us.

There will never be another Republican governor or senators; note that I didn't say conservative.

No need to put Texas in that sentence for it to be perfectly true.
