Bill Pay hint

Recommended Posts

If you use bill pay from within a checking account it is useful to send a nominal payment - $1 to $5 or so - after you have entered the information for a credit card.

I recently got an ExxonMobil card - six cents per gallon off when using their card at their station. After creating their payee I sent a $1 payment. It bounced.

So I have created the payee again and sent a test payment again.
For some reason the last couple cards I have set up I have done the test payment. One hit one miss.

Probably a nominal test payment is a good idea for any one to whom payments are to be made electronically.
