First time I was at a Starbucks, the wife was getting some small cake thing.

”I’ll take a large coffee”

What kind?

”black”

which kind, we have many......

”.....wtf....”

how about a nice medium roast.

it wasn’t bad, I don’t remember what it was.

You done good. Usually Starbucks brewed coffee is so strong it needs to be diluted, a lot. I got some once and think the spoon would stand up. It was so overdone it was bitter and had a bit of spice burn. Hardly something normal folks would enjoy. After looking at their instructions on ground coffee, I understand the consistency.

I know all about Cafe Cubano, also known as cafecito. Basically coffee grounds / concentrated espresso with a ton of sugar. Instant blood sugar and caffeine kick.

You can't escape that stuff in Miami.

In South Florida, people think Cuban coffee is superior—and they're right

I hated that as a teenager, but would love to get the real thing now.

but the typical liberal arts degree that they also tend to have pretty well negates that, at least in my opinion.

You mean 3 degrees... You've already used your LA degree by now.

As to the article, it's a bunch of variations of espresso, a couple variations of latte, and then a couple that are actually different, plus an ice cream float with coffee.

I've never drunk coffee in my life and I've heard of a third of this list.  Maybe it's just because I'm with 100 miles of Seattle, but the espresso and tonic is the only one I'm not so sure I could order at the common drive through coffee stands around here (or maybe the ice cream one)

I get more mileage out of my history degree than one often imagines.  Mostly because of the conversations I have with people.  It has paid for itself that way.  It has been a tremendous help in a social sense and professionally.
