Fnfalman
It’s announced on the CZ Facebook page that the deal is done. Not CZ USA Facebook but the main CZ Facebook page. I’m excited to see what CZ can do to plumb Colt up.

Batesmotel
Maybe a 70 series 1911 that doesn’t need to go to a gunsmith first?

Without AMF there wouldn’t have been any Harley, not that Harley quality control and performance was that great before AMF. Feed ramp was way out of spec. It took a trip to a gunsmith to get it to feed standard military ball ammo reliability. Colt would do nothing. They said it must be bad ammo. 1

Which is why Kimber is on my don’t buy list.
railfancwb
Is CZ a publicly held company? Requirement for ever growing earnings per share does not necessarily create the best environment for making and keeping a company healthy.
ChuteTheMall
Are they going to make a pocket-sized polymer striker-fired .380? That's what the market wants, a LCP beater. In colors, of course. Edited February 12, 2021 by ChuteTheMall

Yet CZ isn’t the one with quality control problems or sales problems. how do you explain that?

The parent company in the Czech Republic, called Ceska Zbrojovka Group SE, is public under the ticker CZG. They aren't traded on the US market. Stock price is about $18. They had their IPO (initial public offering) just last year, so there is no telling how the stock will behave. CZ is a sold brand and been around for 100 years. European companies are less prone to be sucked dry and less likely to be bought out due to more stringent regulations and anti trust laws. They also own Dan Wesson. Valmet
Glad to hear it’s done- CZ will likely be able to turn things around as they aren’t stuck in the past as Colt was with their too little, too late offerings.
Historian
Yeah, at least they weren't purchased by some kind of weasel organization. My bet is they continue to make classics and maybe some new stuff.
jmohme
I am glad to see this. It is kind of sad to see one more American company snatched up but at least its not a Chinese company. I hope we see some high quality products out of Colt now
gwalchmai
I have a couple of CZs - a "Spetznaz Special" and a "mini Mauser". They're good guns. I hope they turn Colt back into the brand it was in its heyday.

M&P15T
Interesting. Who knows what the future holds for Colt? Colt was a publicly traded company, with a Board of Directors and CEO, yes? What happens to those people now that CZ bought them?
