Hopefully, it's not like Harley and AMF.

Without AMF there wouldn’t have been any Harley, not that Harley quality control and performance was that great before AMF.  There’s a reason why the British Invasion was so successful.

Why would a 70 Series need to go to a gunsmith first?

Had one. First owner. Feed ramp was way out of spec. It took a trip to a gunsmith to get it to feed standard military ball ammo reliability.

Colt would do nothing. They said it must be bad ammo.

That type of burn lasts a long time doesn’t it. Which is why Kimber is on my don’t buy list.

Is CZ a publicly held company? Requirement for ever growing earnings per share does not necessarily create the best environment for making and keeping a company healthy.

Yet CZ isn’t the one with quality control problems or sales problems.

how do you explain that?

The parent company in the Czech Republic, called Ceska Zbrojovka Group SE, is public under the ticker CZG. They aren't traded on the US market. Stock price is about $18. They had their IPO (initial public offering) just last year, so there is no telling how the stock will behave.

CZ is a sold brand and been around for 100 years. European companies are less prone to be sucked dry and less likely to be bought out due to more stringent regulations and anti trust laws. They also own Dan Wesson.

Interesting. Who knows what the future holds for Colt?

Colt was a publicly traded company, with a Board of Directors and CEO, yes? What happens to those people now that CZ bought them?

Colt's Manufacturing Company was never traded on any exchange. The ticker "COLT" belongs to another company.
