Hey Eric, as you are a Third infantry Division alumni, does this make any sense to you?

To tell the truth, I never paid much attention to them. The gun volleys did not have anything to do with what we were doing, so It was just background noise to me.

I would say though that people are looking under every blade of grass for a scandal or a reason to be offended and that a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing.

My gut feeling is that there was a reason why they fired the volleys the way they did and it wasn't the act of someone committing career suicide to wave his ass at Biden. Then again, who knows. This freaking world has lost its mind. At any rate, Biden wouldn't know the difference, no matter how they fired the volleys.

Everyone always knew when the gun platoon was practicing. FT Myer is a small post. There is nowhere they could practice, that everyone on post couldn't hear it.

We used to do funeral team training (Or a quick practice before a job) pretty early in the morning. Our barracks bordered Highway fifty. We were maybe two hundred feet from a motel across the road. We used to get some damned funny reactions from their guests, when 7.62 blanks started going off. We weren't the gun platoon, but we made a little noise.
