On this day in 1983, suspected Hezbollah suicide bombers drove a truck laden with explosives into the Marine barracks in Lebanon. 241 US Marines, 58 French military personnel and 6 civilians were killed, along with the two scumbags that carried out the attack.

But they paid the price later. The "Magnificent Ronaldus Magnus" saw to that.

Huh?

Reagan officially did nothing in response to the bombing. A few air strikes on sites using harassing fire and 11 rounds fired from the USS New Jersey into Lebanon [in December] was all that was done and those were previously scheduled for the killing of two other Marines in artillery/missile attacks. A few Druze and Syrians died.

I lost a friend in that bombing. Reagan sat on his keister and did nothing.

I took his comment as sarcasm.
