Sit Back And Enjoy

My Minesweeper was quite slow at sea, compared to modern warships.  13 Knots.  It took forever for us to cross the Atlantic.

One of the greatest pass times was standing on the bow and simply watching the (IIRC) Dolphins riding our Bow Wave, dropping down below the keel, then behind the stern, and swimming so fast they past us up in no time, to play while riding the Bow Wave again,

They really seemed to enjoy doing it.  I really enjoyed watching them.

Used to enjoy that too! Once saw an Orca. A few sea turtles. And a couple of sharks.

The flying fish leaping from wave tip to wave tip was mesmerizing.

I found the sea to be fascinating, along with the exhilaration of huge seas in bad weather.  Powering up a wave higher than our mast, only to slide down the other side.

I could see how someone could be trapped by the oceans.
