Gary Slider Posted September 23, 2020 Share Posted September 23, 2020 Virginia - Per § 15.2-915 Local Governments can ban firearms in their buildings/Parks/Community Centers/Special Events etc. The Virginia Legislature gave them that authority by amending Virginia Code 15.2-915 which took effect July 1, 2020. https://law.lis.virginia.gov/vacode/title15.2/chapter9/section15.2-915/ So we have added that info to the Virginia Page. For those interested in seeing those ordinances and their wording the links are below. We are hoping no more cities pass similar ordinances. As the law states places off limits must be posted. Local Governments in Alexandria, Arlington County, Charlottesville, Fairfax County, Falls Church and Richmond have passed such ordinances. There could be others. Newport News only prohibits Open Carry on their properties. Until then those in Albuquerque should use caution.
