Violent New Mexico protest

With Law Enforcement being defunded, more of this should be expected. You can’t assault people with skateboards to the head (deadly force) and not expect the victims to defend themselves. Unbelievable

He didn't draw or menace anyone with a gun until they smashed him upside his head with a skateboard, chased him down the street smashing him in the head with a skateboard, and were screaming "we're gonna kill you" at him while doing so.

Remember this, the next time you defend cops using lethal force.  They kill at the slight hint of trouble, but when you're attacked and you shoot, they'll arrest you with force.

Quote

After the shooting, officers used tear gas and flash bangs to intervene and to detain Baca and the armed people who had surrounded him, Gallegos told the Associated Press. He said they were disarmed and taken into custody for questioning, and detectives were investigating with the help of the FBI

Remember also that Portland officers watched Antifa beat people, but when Antifa got beat up, officers intervened.

People need to realize cops are not our friends.

Have you ever noticed the police leave you alone when you aren't doing anything illegal? Mostly, LOL.

Every once in a while i get pulled over and asked if i have time for a cup of coffee.  But then again i know them. :)

Also, is the video posted the same as the article?  The guy who blasted the assaulters looked like some poor Joe that got beat up while the photo in the article shows a bunch of GI Joe wannabes.

I'm sorry, but arm yourself against protesters is one thing.  Walking around like you're deploying to 'Nam/Iraq/Afghanistan is another.  You just look like a bunch of loony idiots.

This is interesting.

I guess we will have to wait until the investigation is complete but according to this article, this Baca dude threw a woman to the ground, hence precipitated his beat down by the skate board wielders.  Also he CCWed without having a CCW.

Just because you can.   Doesn't mean you should.

Charges dropped when the DA saw the shootee had a knife.  Of course, his default was to charge the CCW.  Will there be charges against the knife man?

UPDATE — DA drops shooting charge against New Mexico man over Conquistador statue…

(Reuters) – A New Mexico prosecutor on Wednesday dropped a shooting charge against an Albuquerque man suspected of shooting a protester and called for further investigations after allegations the protester was armed at the time he was shot.

Bernalillo County District Attorney Raúl Torrez said he had serious concerns an initial police investigation into the Monday shooting did not identify who owned multiple weapons collected at the scene, including knives, nor interview key bystanders and police.

Torrez dropped an initial aggravated battery with a deadly weapon charge against Steven Baca, 31, after images emerged online showing protester Scott Williams, 39, holding what was rumored to be a knife before he was allegedly shot by Baca. Torrez said he expected Baca to claim self defense in the case.

“There have been rumors on social media about what transpired in the final seconds before this and we are actively looking into those and whether or not this was justified,” Torrez told an online press briefing. “The reason he is not facing that charge right now is because this investigation is not complete.”

Torrez said his office had put out a call for information on allegations Williams was armed.

“Right now I have no evidence to suggest that he was in any way armed,” Torrez said. “The fact that we haven’t charged it (shooting charge) today doesn’t mean it will not be charged.”

Torrez filed four new charges against Baca for unlawful carrying of a firearm and battery for allegedly assaulting three women before the shooting. Baca’s lawyer Jason Bowles said he would plead not guilty to all charges.

It's often said by those in the know if you think you'll be able to get into your proper shooting stance, you are sadly mistken.  Here the shooter enters into a Modified IsoWeaver adaptation.

Superior numbers won't ensure success, if the victim is armed.

Still sucks being charged for illegally packing concealed firearm.

New Mexico is an open carry state...

I wonder if the shootee will be charged for carrying a knife?  Or even ADW?  Of if the skateboard guy will be charged with ADW?  Of course not, it's a liberal democrat jurisdiction, they were just in the middle of a peaceful protest.
