    Next Wednesday morning

Prayers for your mom and hope all goes well. Good luck with trying to help with her mobility concerns; I understand everything related to eldercare is very expensive.
  2. I work in Pullman, WA, home of Washington State University and the Cougar football team. I work in corporate security for the largest employer in the area and we are on the edge of the WSU campus. They are expecting 75,000 to 100,000 people in town for the game. I live in a little town 14 miles away and my town was packed and all RV spots full. The game is tomorrow afternoon and the City of Pullman has declared a State of Emergency... https://pullmanradio.com/pullman-city-council-approves-emergency-declaration-for-espn-college-gameday-visit/ No real threat to our property; just running off people trying to park RVs in our parking lots. We are allowing folks to park on our property to attend the game about a mile away, but not allowing any tailgating or overnight stays. Lots of cops are going to make a lot of OT pay this weekend... https://pullmanradio.com/wsupd-bringing-in-extra-officers-to-help-patrol-campus-this-weekend/ We have a police scanner in our Opscenter and it is pretty much non-stop from 9pm to 3am with alcohol and loud music calls. WSU students have a reputation of burning couches in the street and rioting when they win something, so tomorrow night may be quite exciting.
  3. I tried to check my Powerball ticket I bought and the server was unavailable. Seems everyone is trying to see how long their weekend is going to be...

That's why I installed a KKM 4.5" barrel in my G29 for woods carry so I get the compact size with the performance of a full-size pistol...

you hear a bump in the night what...

I live alone, except for my 100lb lab mix, Rowdy. He has a doggy door onto the back deck and backyard, so he likes to sit on the back deck and survey the surrounding neighborhood. Deer in the yard set him off. Hates them. But if I'm in the house and Rowdy starts growling, then I have an M&P40 with a tac light next to my bed, and a 12ga pump with tac light above the front door. I have cleared the house a couple of times. When I first moved in, I had a couple of "paranormal" instances but nothing since.
  7. It's sad because it's mental illness in all of it's destructive glory, yet now it's being accepted and normalized.
  8. Remember when Jim Carrey put on a wig and tight spandex and made fun of manly women? How far has this country fallen in depravity when the formerly absurd is now widely accepted by those on the left... https://www.foxnews.com/sports/not-fair-world-cycling-bronze-medalist-cries-foul-after-transgender-woman-wins-gold ‘Not fair’: World cycling bronze medalist cries foul after transgender woman wins gold The American bronze medalist who lost a world-championship cycling race to a transgender woman from Canada has criticized the results as unfair. "First transgender woman world champion...ever," Rachel McKinnon, an assistant professor of philosophy at the College of Charleston in South Carolina, bragged Sunday in a tweet that set off a massive debate. McKinnon gave a talk at the College of Charleston earlier this year asking: “Is it fair for transwomen athletes to compete in women’s categories?” While McKinnon argues it is, given the rules and regulations adopted by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), the bronze medalist felt another way at the finish of the world championships. “It’s definitely NOT fair,” Jennifer Wagner, the third-place finisher from Houston, said in response to a tweet from British conservative Katie Hopkins. Twitter Ads info and privacy Hopkins tweeted an image of the three cyclists on the podium with this caption: “For clarity – this was the WOMENS world championships. I repeat. Women’s. Congratulations to the brave faces of silver & bronze. The world is gripped by a febrile madness.” Carolien van Herrikhuyzen, the silver medalist representing the Netherlands and a friend of McKinnon, disagreed. “No one is a transgender to steal anyone’s medal,” van Herrikhuyzen wrote. “We had an honest race under UCI rules. If you compete you accept the rules, otherwise, don’t compete. I can only imagine what she had to go through in her life to be where she is now, how hard it is to fit in.” Wagner snapped back: “Just because it’s a CURRENT UCI rule doesn’t mean it[‘s] fair or right. And rules can be changed.” Four days later, after a firestorm of controversy, Wagner apologized to McKinnon, adding that she will work to get the rules changed offline to avoid more controversy.

Anyone watching The Haunting of HIll House?

I don't watch scary movies that victimize children. Teen campers getting hacked to pieces at a lake? Bring it on. But a little girl getting attacked by demonic forces? Nope. not going to watch it. I did watch Poltergeist back in the 80's, but I was a dopey teenager with really no moral code.
  10. I would look forward to actually meeting all of those cousins I'm told I have but haven't seen in 40 years... And then I would buy GT; oh the wailing and gnashing of teeth would be epic....

    Amazingly good Japanese Whisky.

Found it online but it's sold out... https://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/p/26589/suntory-royal-whisky
  14. I've heard that Japanese whisky is surprisingly good and wanted to get a bottle for my brother, who loves a good whisky. Was in a Japanese grocery store and picked out a bottle that was about $40. Got back to the US and handed out the gifts and my dad and brother immediately got out the whisky glasses and poured a couple. They both sniffed the glasses, then took a swig. Then they slowly lowered their glasses, looked at each other, then at me, and said that was some of the best whisky they had ever had. Then they both had some more and started giving out specific compliments about the flavor, smoothness, aftertaste, etc. I'm not a whisky drinker, but I do like Jameson over most other brands I've tried. I took a sip and it was indeed better than Jameson. Much better.
