  1. Clancy

    Not my dog, thank God!
  2. My neighbor lived next to Ton San Nhut Air Base when South Vietnam fell. A few years later he and his family escaped, and he and a few others made it after their boat sunk. I am not sure what country they made it to(we were drinking a bit when he told me about it) but he spent 5 years in an internment camp. I now understand how you feel about having experienced a societal collapse.
  3. I have survived another year with no major health issues(that's a minor miracle in itself), my wife, son, and everyone else in my immediate family are doing well, my wife is working, I have my SSI/disability, and the dogs and cats are good. We are warm, our bellies are full, and we have a roof over our heads. I cannot complain at all.
  4. Yes, I do, on occasion use a single shot.
  5. Once Avalanche stopped thinking the cat was a chew toy the cat actually learned to like him.
  6. Probably not much at all. The few handguns that really made a world changing difference were used by assassins, like this. Hardly a world changing design, until Gavrilo Princip killed Archduke Ferdinand with it , precipitating the First World War and all the horrors and change that followed
  7. It's one like this, but in .45acp rather than 9mm or .30cal Luger. And yes, it's worth that much.
  8. I don't know where you live, but there is a muzzleloading shop that may be of help. Been there several times, and it a great store. http://www.dixonmuzzleloading.com/ The Log cabin Shop is in Ohio. Never been there, but it has a good reputation. https://www.logcabinshop.com/ The Track of the Wolf is online, they might be worth looking at, as well.
  9. The hunting club I belong to has a range set up. I either go there or to my Dad's property. I am so grateful I don't have to go to a public range.
  10. I have met quite a few people over the years who were civilians in Europe during WW2. The one thing they all had in common was a mental toughness that I rarely saw from anyone born in the US, save for combat veterans and cops. One friend's mother was a labor camp survivor who was snatched from the street in the city lived in, in Ukraine, when she was 13. One tough old lady. She often said if you are warm and your stomach is full you have nothing to complain about.
  11. Yes, I got the ban hammer. Screw them.
