  1. Therapists are often way more screwed in the head than the people they are supposed to help.

  2. I'm currently in the PNW for family reasons. On my drive into town, I go through an area that was cattle fields when I was young. It flooded every few years. Soon enough people began building there as it was close to town. Then the county had to do something about the flooding so dikes were built. It still flooded. Higher dikes were built. More homes built. It flooded again. New pumps were put in to pump the creek into the river that is behind the now huge dike. Lots more homes were built. No more farm land and no more cows. Lots of tax dollar money is spent yearly to protect this place form flooding when the cows just didn't care back in the day. They just headed to high ground until the water receded. Humans are dumb. We are destroying our best farm and crop lands.

  3. I could sell my house for 3-4 times what I gave for it, and I would, but there is nowhere to go. Land prices are the same. I think it’s this way on the southern part of the east coast. Commies fleeing the mess they made seems to be one reason. Another is people in the north selling out for huge profit and buying up every acre they can at the coast or in the mountains. One person I know owned 2 lots at the coast. He is selling them for enough to buy a lot with a house already built. It’s just crazy. I predict better prices and availability when the market crashes, and it will. Soon.

  5. I'm running out of room in my house and just decided to find me some land in my area, so that I can build a custom shop and house on it. Something around 5 acres with room for a 25 yard range and an organic garden. There is NONE for sale within 50 miles. All sucked up in the last 12 months or so. Crazy! I feel so stupid because I passed on a 5 acre lot for sale 3 years ago. It was for sale at around 90k. Its now worth close to 1 million. This part of Florida used to be a hidden gem with less traffic and less tourists. Not any more. They have been building new communities all around my neck. Value of my current house goes up by 10 grand every single month, now for 1.5 years. House across the street was for sale 4 months ago, and sold on the next day, over asking price. Is this a nation-wide issue or is everybody moving to Florida?

  6. Supposedly they were maneuvering the North and the South so that there would be two weak nations with two central banks and Rothschilds running both. Lincoln screwed that up by having US Treasury notes printed rather than having banks print currency Also supposedly Kennedy wanted to have the US Treasury notes printed rather than paying interest to the Federal Reserve for its circulating currency notes. Both caught bullets in their heads… coincidence? I don’t know…

  7. Sometimes self control just gets the better of you. Maybe next time. I just wasn't going to qualify the remarks with a response that the jackwagon doesn't give a fuzzy flip about anyway. Speak with your wallet even though they don't even understand that often enough. Seems he even made a snide remark tot he position. I'm sure Mrs C was eloquent, polite, and very clear on how many of us think of such things.

  11. Independent contractors (non-union) aren't allowed in the ports, either. The new 24/7 rule (as Joe preached) just allows the union guys to amass beaucoup overtime pay.

  12. My lot's twin, 6 lots down, just sold for $60k more than I bought mine for. I'm not complaining. @crockett my home in Central FL has tripled in appraised value since I bought in the late 1990s. The population boom ain't no joke. @RS_Rider I've been out here in Phoenix for the last couple months, and yeah, the locals are definitely feeling the pinch of the Californicators. Even the "good" ones, (like the "good" yankees), are not good for the environment in such numbers.

  13. This explains a lot I didn't understand about the port log jamb. The trucking issue with California LA ports, ie the Port of Los Angeles (POLA) and the Port of Long Beach (POLB), is that all semi tractors have to be current with new California emissions standards. As a consequence, that mean trucks cannot be older than 3 years if they are to pick up or deliver containers at those ports. This issue wipes out approximately half of the fleet trucks used to move containers in/out of the port. Operating the port 24/7 will not cure the issue, because all it does is pile up more containers that sit idle as they await a limited number of trucks to pick them up. https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2021/10/14/the-california-version-of-the-green-new-deal-and-an-october-16-2020-epa-settlement-with-transportation-is-whats-creating-the-container-shipping-backlog-working-ca-ports-24-7-will-not-help-here/ In effect, what this 2020 determination and settlement created was an inability of half the nation’s truckers from picking up anything from the Port of LA or Port of Long Beach. Virtually all private owner operator trucks and half of the fleet trucks that are used for moving containers across the nation were shut out.

  14. Trump started the process of bringing California in line with the rest of the country in regards to emissions. This would have solved the shipping crisis before it really got started. As usual he was challanged in court and then it was all stopped after the coup.

  17. Afaik there are none made in the USA anymore. The Kenwood TH-D74A used to be made in Japan, but its now discontinued ever since a Japanese chip plant burned to the ground. Always wondered if China was behind that. I was looking into buying the TH-D74A a year or so ago, but the remaining ones had been sucked up fast. Looks like a couple are being sold on Amazon by external sellers at a markup: https://www.amazon.com/Kenwood-Original-TH-D74A-Performance-Transceiver/dp/B01LZNETPS That's what I would get, but when I looked into the remaining ham community I came across some old geezers trying to talk me into the China junk for starters and ""grow"" into that glorified serious gear down the road. Didn't feel like getting the license and ending up talking to the same knuckleheads.

  24. I left that jackass a very polite but pointed comment on his pseudo-apology post about how apologizing for saying something that you thought does not at all change what you think (him saying he'd be happy if I died of Covid) , my example being "If I said "I hope you die of complications from the vax," and then apologized for saying it, the apology does not in any way change that I hope(d) you('d) die. I wish I'd thought to copy and paste the thing here for your amusement, because apparently the comments aren't visible. Anyway, I closed with "I do not hope you die of complications from the vax but I do hope you get your head out of your ass ,if only for the benefit of your employees who will be the ones to suffer from the drop in sales caused by your ill-informed and vile rant. and I did tell him I removed the NAA revolver that was on my future purchases list and will not be buying any more products from his company.

  25. Concerned citizens cannot make educated choices... and most of them are too stupid to realize that their current choices are not informed by reality. They just follow along like sheep whatever the legacy media is currently spouting. I spent my childhood hearing about the Ice Age we were heading for that never arrived, so until there is good info available (not temps taken over asphalt parking lots) I'm not taking the ScreamingMeemies seriously about the Greenhouse Effect here, either. The evidence available is entirely... inconclusive.

  29. Hydrogen is sourced from, Petroleum, Coal, natural gas, Biomass. Get rid of fossil fuels and you remove the greatest sources of Hydrogen. If you pretend to get all Hydrogen from sea water, the electricity to produce it still comes from a power plant. Chicken and egg.

  31. Cause there ain't no carbon in hydrogen. You burn it and you get water vapor. All you need to make hydrogen is water and electricity, both of which you get by burning hydrogen. It's like perpetual motion, kinda.
