Administrators Rabbi Posted September 17, 2017 Administrators Share Posted September 17, 2017 My wife can sing. She has a very pleasant voice and can put some power in it. When she showers, she sings. My office is on the other side of the house but her singing comes through the AC vent very well. I love it when this happens. I really do. So, what are your little things that make you happy?

OldSchool64
One post leads to another..... 6 minutes ago, Smith10 said: Burnt .22LR powder. Coffee on a cool day. This line is spoken by Bill Kilgore, played by Robert Duvall, in the film Apocalypse Now, directed by Francis Coppola (1979). Most people like the smell of coffee or bacon in the morning. But not Lt. Col. Bill Kilgore. He likes his breakfast spiced with a little more death. In Apocalypse Now, the film that takes Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness from the heart of Africa and into the darkness of the Vietnam War, Kilgore greets his men with this speech about the beauty of napalm. To him, it smells not like death, but "victory." He caps off his speech with "Someday this war's gonna end," but he almost sounds sad about it. OldSchool64
Anyway I'm happy enough with 35+ year old truck the fires-up, gets me where I need to go and gets the job done. The simplicity is in the purely mechanical nature of the beast.

Mrs.Cicero
The scent and taste of tea early in the morning before anyone else is up. The silly soft feel of my mastiff's ears. The sound of the goofy young roosters in my coop just learning to crow. The scent of the irises that grow under my redwood tree.

Jason D
I love the smell of linseed oil on freshly refinished wood. The smell of leather. The smell of burned gun power. Cutting into a warm loaf of banana bread. I get down right giddy when Karma rears it's head and bites someone on the ass.

TeaDub
Top quality TP. Left to her own devices, the missus would pinch pennies with that single ply, sandpaper stuff. I say...
