DrB
Just bought an oil filter for my 2015 Silverado. Looking at it was suprised to see it was made in USA. I thought they moved production to Mexico. Are all K&N filters still made here? Now off to change oil..... Dave..
holyjohnson
some are made in the USA some aren't. Champion manufactured the cartridge for awhile but i think K&N are now global so some are made in England, the USA,China and Mexico i think its the Champion-1 Performance case. maybe its changed by now i haven't used K&N stuff for awhile now. they were always good for like 10 more P.S.I. though. Rinspeed
I never thought of using their oil filters for the simple fact that their air filters suck.

I just use the oil filters not the air filters so I can't comment on those. Dave..

Isn't that kinda the idea? Suck in oil? On 5/11/2019 at 2:07 PM, holyjohnson said: some are made in the USA some aren't. That always scared me - made me wonder if the filtration wasn't as good.

K&N was designed for high compression high oil pressure Diesels and the bypass was always considered more reliable and tighter. https://www.manta.com/mb_35_A82CA032_000/filters_oil_fuel_and_air_motor_vehicle?pg=

That is exactly their main objection for air filtration, who gives a **** about protection, as long as you get more flow.
holyjohnson
the oil in the Air Filters tend to ruin MAF sensors and sometimes IACs but a ton of turbo impellers have been destroyed by the oil picking up debris and collecting it. theres really good non reusable high flow Air Filters around for a lot less then K&N.
