500 years ago she claims?  New one on me.  I could go back in the Jewish registry for both sides of my family to the 1900's.  The marriage certificate I own for one set is from the 19th Century.  I have a mixture of Germanic and Sephardic.  The Sephardic side, I am not so found of because they passed me some shitty genes.  But, it could be worse.  I could claim to be a Puerto Rican before there was a Puerto Rico, and then talk about being Sephardic 500 years ago?  A whole new racial mixture was created about that time, it was called Meztizo or "Mixture" or Spanish and Indian, and has flourished for that long.  You might know them as the nation was later rebranded as "Mexico."  I have known Puerto Ricans from the Islands, and from New York.  They refer to themselves typically as "Boricua."  I guess I will tell the young, annoying socialist, stop playing in my gene pool, when she is not in it, or I will start sending you letters and calling myself a "Boricua" from 900 years ago (she would probably bite, sadly).

She needs to be very careful. My Mother had two sisters who married Ashkenazi Jews——one Uncle’s family came from Munich, Germany and one Uncle’s family came from Austro Hungary (Now Krackow Poland). If she is Jewish, she will be able to give is chapter and verse of her lineage.

Yes, we all came from Adam, then Noah and sons.  Then Hashem decided to take a guy from Ur, named Abrahim.  The story diverges from there.  Half ended up being Israel and Judea, and half are the people that brought you Sharia, Jihad, and the other joys of Islam.  Then the 10 tribes of Israel get taken away, eventually Judah (from which the term Jew comes from), it becomes a scattering, but by the time of Pentecost, the world was made of lots of people who came to Yarushalem, from all over the world.  So, you are going to have diversity there.  Then the resettling in the Dark Ages, along with persecution.  There is no return until after the Shoa and World War II.  Then carving out portions of what used to be when the Arabs decided to kill in the interlopers in the name of the Moon god.  A lot of history in one sharp breath.  Those who bore the name of my ancestors that made it to the United States, and had their names butchered in the 1930 census (Because it was still pervasive in the United States-who cares it is just a Yid, write down whatever), First name for Germanic ancestors were Leonhardt that were written down Leonard.  The last names were able to be tracked, it took a lot of work.  But, those who didn't ended up in the Shoa (Holocaust) all over Europe.  Unfortunately, the registry is not complete as you can go near 1900, which I have done.  The best preserved document I have was from the Lowe family (yes, the same people who brought you Lowe's-surprise) marriage in the 1800's, which unfortunately the registry doesn't go back that far.  It is well preserved in a frame all for well over two centuries, which is not bad considering.

Declaring something without research, well, that is an AOC thing.

My German kin trace their ancestory back to 1873. My Polish cousins can go way back. They are Levites.  My Maternal Grandfather had a surname that is sometimes Jewish and my Uncles grew up in the deep South where there were not many Jewish folks so they got as close as they could when it came to choosing mates. My Germanic Uncle is a Christ follower now. My Polish Uncle and my cousins are Reformed and observant. It’s a neat story. My Uncle whose family came from Munich got three brothers over hear right before the Shoa. The patriarch of the family was a Free Mason and used his connections to get it done and gave them his name.  We grew up hearing  their accounts of the Shoa. We had the 2nd Amendment thing figured out early on and firearms were always a part of our own culture. 

AOC is just pandering. Hopefully her audience is aware of how she truly feels about Israel.

One of the "ancient" bibles my Grandfather's family got out of England in 1939, records marriages and births back to late 1680s.  To have an accurate, hand recorded family tree back 500 years is amazing

As some might infer, Comrade Alexandria is not my cup of tea. However, in this instance she might have a valid point. Kindly put the emphasis on "might". It's OK, even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.

Some years ago, a list was published of Sephardic family names. I know of that list because I checked it and found out that on both sides of my family  the surnames appeared. The story goes:

"...the Spanish government has expressly distanced itself from a list of 5,200 Sephardic family names that has been circulating on the Internet. The list has been compiled from academic and genealogical sources, and many, if not all, of the names on the list appear to be legitimate Sephardic surnames.

But Spanish authorities — presumably fearful that the list could provoke an avalanche of citizenship applications — issued an urgent notice casting doubt on the accuracy of the document and stating that the government has no intention of ever publishing an official list of Sephardic names. If, and only if, that list is correct, then I have Jewish blood in me. Which might confirm the suspicions of strangers encountered on the street that have proposed to me the question---"Are  you Jewish? You look Jewish."

I strongly suspect AOC's faith is able to change with who she is speaking to; a Faith of convenience, so-to-speak. She sure as hell is not a good Catholic who just happens to believe in baby extermination.

If you go back far enough in history - prior to the Catholic, protestant and many other faiths that exist today and many that have fallen by the wayside - there were Jews.
