RenoF250
If it is doing damage, and I don't doubt that it is I don't have a problem with that. I think there are plenty of other options that don't have that stuff in it. 1
ASH
as A FARMER i can tell you being out in the sun for over 40 years the sun has changed like 10 fold. i never use to burn but in last 10 years if i got burned it hurt and itched like a mfer . i agree there are safer alternatives . some of sunscreens have some dangerous **** in it .
Huaco Kid
I worked at at the Jamaica power plant. Kingston. They have a WWII tug that's been there since WWII. So, they yook this ship that had been bombed into the beach. And cut the props off in the middle, and welded a HUGE geneerator in.

Huaco Kid
I was in Jamaica, and working may ass off. Like, working. And burning into toast. In the death-killing sun. I asked all the worker-guys where to get some sunscreen. They all just looked at me stupid and shrugged. They're all black. They never did it. They don't sell it it in the stores. They don't even know what killer-sunburn is.

The sun hasn't changed. You've gotten old, and your skin doesn't hold moisture like it used to, you drink probably 1/4 the water that you used to, and you don't heal/recover anything like you used to. It's you, not the sun. 1 2
janice6
Looks like the choice by the city is Coral over Cancer in people. What a quandary.

willie-pete
When oxybenzone sunscreens are outlawed, only outlaws will have oxybenzone sunscreens. 1
limeylad
So how do they enforce the ban? It's not like one can put the banned sunscreen in a different bottle. Edited February 9, 2019 by limeylad
Zonny
You know what they call sunscreen in London? Wishful thinking. Ash, many meds come into play with how your body/skin reacts to the sun. The sun is 4 billion years old. Doubtful it’s changed much in the past 10 years. Huaco Kid
With all the fertilizer Florida washes into the ocean (the millions of suburban "golf-yard" people, not the farmers), the sunscreen-ban is just a feel-good thing.

Then the “cyclines” antibiotics.
