Another #MeToo - Neil deGrasse Tyson

He believes he is the sussessor to Carl Sagan. Sagan was always respectful of religion, even if he didn’t believe any.

Tyson is as anti church as they come and no Sagan. The idea that he was just doing a “spiritual handshake” of the Native American tribes is laughable.

poetic justice and karma.

I have really enjoyed a lot of his lectures over the years when he sticks to astrophysics, astronomy, outer space, etc. He is a very good speaker, and a champion for the space program. I agree with him that NASA needs much more support.

But then, when he starts talking politics or climate change, I just have to tune him out. I just ignore most of that nonsense. Just my two cents...

I liked the reboot of Carl Sagan's Cosmos that Tyson narrated.

But that's neither here nor there.  Is he guilty?

Who knows?  You can never really know anyone, especially a famous person with a PR staff.  Place your bets and act accordingly.

My complaint about Dr. Tyson lies with his failure to objectively use his doctorate in astrophysics for meaningful research or formal education of others. He spend years earning his AB from Harvard College, his M.A. from University of Texas/Austin and then onto Columbia for a M.Phil. and a Ph.D. in astrophysics. Instead of going on to PostDoc research or teaching, he went on to become a staff scientist for one year and then he became the acting and then full director of Hayden planetarium.

His subsequent work has been talking to non-scientists about the equivalent of freshman survey coursework in astronomy. He is doing the work of a talented holder of a B.Sc. in Astronomy and nothing more. He has occupied student positions in graduate colleges that should have gone to more deserving candidates and is a virtual squanderer of his education.

He has done virtually no meaningful research, has contributed little to the common stock of knowledge in astrophysics, and has not advanced the science as his doctorate degree calls for.

As much of an egoist he appears to be, it would not surprise me in the least that he may have earned the reputation of a sexual hedonist.

All he needs is an few appearances on the Tonight Show to cement his place as a celebrity.

He'll get invited to all of the right parties, hang with the swells, maybe even get a ride on Al Gore's jet.

An invitation from Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson to whine about racial injustice  can't be far off.

I've already had to listen to him on some daytime talk show (prisoner in a doctor's waiting room) so it's already happening.  Neil deGrope Tyson (or is it Neil deGross Tyson) should be declared guilty as every Democrat, Fascist, and National Socialist told us we must do when it comes to believing every accuser against any conservative.

Needs to be investigated and either proven or disproven, innocent until proven guilty!

I do believe in todays political/social environment that a lot of people could be charged or at least investigated on similar charges, think about some of the stuff y'all have done.

The point is to bash Fascists over the head with their own standards.  Shove their faces in piles of their own hypocrisy.

I didn't know who he was by the name, but recognize the image in the photo.  He has been on at least two Big Bang Theory episodes.

Probably likes to feel up the ladies and get away with what he can.

Can't do that, even if you are a successful black man in show biz.

Right Bill Cosby?

The way it should be versus the way liberals are demanding.

None of us individually are a Court of Criminal Law and cannot, nor arguably should not, be held to the standard of evidence required in a Court of Criminal Law.

I do not need to conduct a criminal inquiry into broccoli, the Pontiac Aztek, or George Clooney to know that I do not care for or like them. Hence, I do not eat broccoli, have any desire to own a Pontiac Aztek, or investigate the life of George Clooney to believe he is a terrible actor. People are disposed, individually and collectively, to have opinions about other persons or things and there is nothing wrong with such, outside of a Criminal Court of Law where a defendant's Rights are endangered.

The difference is one is a opinion affecting no one and the other is a Court finding that impacts the Rights of the accused.

He used his degree to make money. I can't fault him. Plus, I like a guy that can explain stuff in simple terms.
