On this day in history (Oct. 8, 1967) after an informant notified the CIA backed Bolivian Special Forces of the whereabouts of Che Guevara's guerrilla encampment, Guevara and his men were captured. Guevara was executed the next day by the Bolivian army.

He looks too old for this to be a photo from 1962.

People fought to stay alive no matter what the odds.  This period in our history made some very strong people!

Today they struggle to read an analog watch.

From the biographies I have read, he was a real prick to most people.

Not many know the Germans invented NV during WW2. Everything starts somewhere. Suddenly the 60’s Starlight Scope makes sense. And they did it under relentless bombing.

Appears at least one weapon is a STEN gun. Wonder who they are and where/when this was taken.

Americans used them too with the high intensity infra red spotlight and  detector, in the Pacific.

They soon found out that the Japanese had some too.  The Idea of turning on the IR spotlight and checking the area, got a number of users shot.  The Japs would look through the IR detectors without the lights on, for the IR spot lights from the Americans and then shoot at the light source.

General practice after this was to turn on the detector and scan the area for other IR sources, before turning on your IR spot light.

Yes a very good way to give away your position and get shot.
