Bullet dodged- FOR NOW

So, Florida remains crazy, even in elections.

Sure, we just barely squeaked out a win against a true socialist who hates crackers and cops, but we also just approved an amendment to the state constitution that gives voting rights to 1.4 million felons.

I fear the battle was won yesterday, but the war was lost.

Get your escape plans in order, Crackers.

That about sums it up.

Many if not most of those felons are blacks, and most of them will vote Democratic.

Scott had a slim win 8 years ago, less margin in 2014, and DeSantis win is even tighter. On top of that, the constant influx from up North and foreign countries, all rather left leaning. It's just a matter of time and Florida will be lost. Probably in 4 years.

My personal problem is - and I have confirmed that in cold NYC just a couple weeks ago - that I can't stand cold climate. I'm literally in pain when it is cold. Hence, Wyoming and Idaho are out as an alternative.

I'd love to move to Arizona, but they are facing the same potential fate as FL with their influence from the South and influx from CA.

South Taxes stays pretty warm throughout the winter, but I lived close to Dallas for 2 years and hated it. No beach AND no mountains with overcast weather for weeks in a row was very depressing for me.

I'd love to check out Hawaii, but they are way of the chart politically.

South Georgia may be an option, but that is also a major compromise on all fronts but gun rights.

Nevada is decent, but too much desert for my liking. I do like Vegas, but its too much "show" long-term. The influx from CA is also no bueno. Cold nights as well.

Utha and Colorado look great, but too cold for me. They are also dealing with major influx from CA.

Not much left.

Any input will appreciated.

When I read the title; I thought that guy from the other night had come back for you and you literally might have " dodged a bullet ".

Glad to see it was a different subject.

;)

BTW; I have the same issues as Crockett; nowhere else to go. I been to a lot of places I would not want to go back to.

Crockett, there are some nice beaches in South Texas, especially South Padre island. Problem is, South Texas is actually North Mexico now... the new immigrant wave now living south of the I-10 line accepts the culture of "mordita" that they learned to live with in Mexico. Smash and grab vehicle burglaries are an intramural sport in Corpus Christi. For me, I-10 is the defacto border now. Ten years from now, it will be I-20.

If you can learn to live without decent beaches, try east central Texas. Warm climate most of the year, a welcoming gun culture, no state income tax... not paradise, but nice enough.

for real! im trying to leave California, but everywhere we look, its just more of California...washington, oregon, texas, georgia, colorado.... dang....

Maybe if i stay here a little longer it will just be us left... ya right, there are so many foreigners moving into palo alto every day its insane. my kids need to learn Chinese and Spanish just to have friends at school...

I grew up in california, and now its becoming a place i do not recognize at all anymore, its becoming a place i want to leave and never go back...

liberalism is metastatic in America. I truly fear for the Republic, as described by Ben Franklin. "IF you can keep it."

Well, we had a pretty good run. I am less intolerant of the cold, so my options are a little better than Crockett or WP. But still, that despicable mental disease has spread to Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, and Montana, even Alaska. Vart seems to think Idaho is OK. But man, things don't look great for Conservative thinkers these days...

It would have been a red tide if Trump had not got up before one and all and announce that he could erase the entire 14th Amendment by Executive Order.  Here is the problem:  To change it, it specifically says 3/4th's of the House and Senate must agree.  Further the United States Constitution guarantees Citizenship by Jus Soli (being born here), and Just Sanguinus (Being born of Two United States Citizens), everything else Trump was kvetching about was the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) created by congress as law, and then enacted in policy.  No Amendment guarantees Asylum.  Nothing bars us from allowing pregnant women to enter a Port of Entry.  His Anti-14th Amendment, because I said so, FUBARed the election and gave back power to the House.  Had he got off his 14th Amendment kick, and surrounded himself by experts and not trust fund idiots, he would have reached out to Congress to change existing law.  That would not have messed up the House the way it is now.  If he had just went golfing and stayed off twitter, etc, we would have a Red House now too.  He polarized so many people with I can unilaterally erase any Amendment I don't like, that he even got the Indy voters worried.
