It's making the same sounds as other large frozen lakes do.  Many have not been Ice fishing on a very large lake, and heard it groaning, squeaking, snapping and moving.

It is special.  Nature tries to tell you that things may change, and you won't be able to do a damn thing about it.

Freezing lakes make awesome sounds.
