Man accidentally shoots himself in leg

A Berwyn man accidentally shot himself in his leg with a handgun over the weekend, police said.

At 1:10 p.m. on Sept. 8, West Chester Police officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of East Nields Street for a reported shooting. Officers located a 22-year-old man from Berwyn with a gunshot wound to his left leg. Detectives from West Chester Police Department responded and conducted the investigation. The victim, whose name is being withheld by police, accidentally shot himself in his leg with his own Sig Sauer 9 mm handgun.

Police said the victim has a valid gun permit for the handgun. The victim was treated and transported to Paoli Hospital by Good Fellowship Ambulance Company. The victim’s injury was reported to be non-life-threatening. The West Chester Police Department continues to investigate the shooting.

I'd be curious to know hat kind of Sig it was. A striker fired  P320 or  P365? Or a P220 series. I also wonder what the circumstances were when he shot himself.  At 22 years old hopefully he learned something about getting in the habit of keeping your finger off the trigger and outside the trigger guard until you're ready to fire the gun.
