fortyofforty
Anyone ever own, or carry, a Fitz Special? 2
Borg warner
I've never owned one but I've seen a couple of them. I wouldn't mind owning one especially if it was a 45 ACP or .45 Colt New Service Fitz Special. They are quite valuable if the were one of the ones actually made at the Colt factory but I wouldn't mind having a "Replica" just for fun. They were the original prototype for the Colt Detective Special an dI wouldn't mind having one of those either.
Collim1
No. I have never handled one in person. I would love the opportunity to check one out. My carry revolver is a hammerless Centennial frame. Not a Fitz obviously, but similar concept. Snag free concealable DA goodness.
G26S239
No. That has never interested me.
Fnfalman
If I were to ever come across a beat-up New Service, I might buy it and do a Fitz Special. However, I'm not going to chop up one of my sweet New Services just for that conversion.
Historian
Nope. Never seen one. But I'd buy one in a heart beat. Talk about history.

PATCHMAN
I know the original Fitz Special had the front of the trigger guard cut away. I'm not liking that but have seen Fitz "inspired" trigger guards where front half of the trigger guard has been thinned down. Hard to describe in words but is like what's shown in pix below. The advantage is that there is still a complete trigger guard but allows for quicker/easier movement of finger onto trigger.
